Monday 04-28-14: The students will continue building upon their Brand Identity Vocabulary as they develop their product soda labels in Adobe Illustrator. This is the final project grade. The students will also be reviewing past units on math and measurements, graphic design, page layout, typography, and printing industry. For the EOCT's we will be in our Room Today!

Wednesday 04-30-14: The students will be learning about  substrates, ink, paper and the printing industry as they develop more vocabulary to use to critique their final project. The students will be working on ipads to develop concepts for their newspaper advertisement. The students will also be reviewing past units for final exam. For the EOCT's we will be in room 909.

Week of April 21, 2014 through April 25, 2014

Monday 04-21-14: The students will be given more time on their Business Set due to the registration process last week. The students will be reviewing graphic design terminology as well as color usage. The students will take their digital color wheel they created and build a theme using color choices.

Tuesday 04-22-14: The students will have a small worksheet on color usage to complete as they complete their thematically color wheel digitally in Adobe using skills and abilities learned. The students will also be introduced to the substrates used in the graphic design industry.

Wednesday 04-23-14: The students will complete their "Business Sets Projects" and display them. This is the deadline date. The students will continue learning about color usage and substrates as they complete the color wheel. Some students will be given the opportunity to design a logo for the community of Mableton, Georgia.

Thursday 04-24-14: The students will be given a test over Color Usage. The students will also be reviewing substrates as they work on a classroom assignment worksheet. The students will building upon their skills and abilities as they work on the color wheel and community logo in Adobe Illustrator.

Friday 04-25-14: The students will review all three subjects graphic design, color usage and substrates as they take an assessment in www.schoology.com for review for final. The students will have student then critique their logos and color wheels for future changes.

Monday 04-14-14: Students will be learning about binding and finishing as they save their files to the proper path and USB Flash drive to be printed and assembled. The students will also be working one their "Business Set Projects page layout of the business card, letter head, post care front and back to be displayed upon completion. The students will be reviewing color usage this week.

Logo Designing

"Business Set Project"

Applying Graphic Design Unit to Page Layout using Adobe Illustrator

Monday 04-07-14: The students will review the terminology used in the graphic design unit. The will be given a small quiz in graphic design as they finish up their presentations. The students will start sketching out their black in white logo designs as well as page layout the rest of the business set 

Tuesday 04-08-14: The students will be working in Adobe illustrator as they build upon their knowledge of graphic design and page layout in their "Business Set" Projects. The student will be reviewing page layout terminology and learning new techniques on how to write about design. Critiques

Wednesday 04-09-14: The students will continue reviewing terminology in graphic design and page layout, as well as be re-introduced to finishing and binding. The students will continue to work on their "Business Set "Projects in Adobe Illustrator.

Thursday 04-10-14: The student swill be given an assessment over finishing, graphic design, and page layout terminology.The students will be working on their "Business Set " Projects. The students will be binding their career booklets as well.

A Red Carpet Affair

Please Come Out and Support our Graphic Design and Cosmetology CTAE Classes

Monday 03-24-14: Students will be starting to work on their Business Set Projects sketching out their logos and learning more about graphic designing. The students will also work in small groups to complete their presentations for Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday 03-25-14: Students will continue to learn about the elements of art and the principles of design as well as create a CMYK, spot color and making swatches-digital color wheel in Adobe Illustrator. The students will be creating their color comps for the chosen logo design. The students will also be working on their small group presentations as well as the CTAE Expo show posters, program and props.

Wednesday 03-26 14: The students will start developing their logos in Adobe Illustrator for their Business Set Projects. The students will continue working on the CTAE Expo Show, as well as, their small group project presentations.

Thursday 03-27-14: The students will be given a survey for peer evaluations as well as self critiques on their small group presentations as for the first three groups will present the required information to the entire class. Groups 1,2,3 will be going first. The students will be given time to continue working on their Business Set Projects as well in Adobe Illustrator.

Friday 03-28-14: The rest of the small group presentations will be given along with evaluations of each group. The students will also be given a small quiz over the information given to each class for class participation. The student will have time to work on the Business Set Projects once finished with all presentations and assessment.

Week of March 17, 2014 through March 21, 2014

Monday 03-17-14: The students will be building upon their vocabulary as they learn about the principles of design. The students will also be enhancing their skills in Adobe Illustrator as they finish up their typographical solution career cover. The students will be grouped in small groups of five to research and apply the graphic design unit standard requirements starting with a fryer model.

Tuesday 03-18-14:  The students will continue working in small groups on their projects as well as be introduced to logo designing and the CTAE Expo Poster Competition. The students will as be utilize their skills and abilities in Adobe Illustrator.

Wednesday 03-19-14: The students will be executing their presentations of their small groups using web tools and hand made visual presentations as they learn more about the elements and principles of design. The students will complete their typographical solution in Adobe Illustrator and start their sketches for their next project "Business Set" creating a business logo.

Thursday 03-20-14:  The students will be learning more about the basic of design and graphic design as they take notes and critique on another's small group presentations. The students will have a self evaluation to fill out, as well go though the presentations.The students will continue working on their CTAE Expo Poster Competition, and start working on their logo designs.

Friday 03-21-14: The students will continue working on presentations delivery and critiques. The students will work in Adobe Illustrator on their next projects- CTAE Poster Competition March 26, 2014 at 6:30 Reese Theater. The students will also be working on their layout for their Business Set.
